Building on the end-of-August visits to Port Elizabeth, Makhanda and East London, the five-member Indlulamithi team held a series of meetings in the Western Cape in the week of 26 September. Beth Vale, Siphokazi Sigenu, Thabi Leoka, Vuma Ngcobo and Xolelwa Kashe-Katiya represented the initiative during meetings with the Western Cape provincial government and the ANC’s provincial executive committee and facilitated a workshop with multiple stakeholders from public and private sectors.

Our spokespeople received a warm welcome at the local office of Primedia where they had an extensive discussion with John Maytham on his show on Cape Talk, and had a lively interview on Bush Radio. Such public engagements provide valuable amplification for stakeholder discussions. We will pursue similar opportunities with the media in KwaZulu-Natal, the next stop for the Indlulamithi roadshow, where we look forward to meeting with business, public and non-profit sectors in the last week of October.
